Personalised Services are hot in sunny Barcelona
February 12, 2008

mBalance gaining a lot of interest at MWC2008

During the first couple of days at the Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona it is clear that the world is getting more personalised. End-users demand more control over the (operator) services they buy. Unfortunately, existing legacy SMS services are not capable to meet these new demands.

mBalance, through it's OEM partners, is able to deliver the most efficient technology, to enable operators to empower their end users to personalise their SMS messages. These messages can be personalised while being send or when delivered. Functions like copy to e-mail, copy to SMS, attach signatures or forward to other handsets, sounds trivial, but are innovative changes to the existing SMS operator model.

Fraud protection and security are also hot topics at the Mobile World Congress. mBalance has been providing SMS firewall and SPAM control mechanism for several years now, but now with the XS platform more personalised security has been added. The GSMA has just launched a major program against sexual child abuse, and with the mBalance XS platform with web based parental control, parents can now also protect their young children. This can be done through the use of black/white or red listing of numbers and/or premium SMS services (ringtones, etc.). These are just some of the applications that make SMS personal, and for which mBalance has successful delivered solutions. MWC2008 Booth video
