June 09, 2008

Combination of travel, customer contacts and technology is fun!

In the 2008 Education special from the Dutch IT magazine Computable (called "Opleidingen Gids 2008"), an employee from mBalance was interviewed. Arnoud van Velsen, provides insight in his activities at mBalance. Please find underneath the English translation of the article.

Arnoud van Velsen (Age 40)

Employer: mBalance

Education: Technical Computer Science

Career path: "My background is within the Telecommunication market. This was the right level for mBalance to offer me the job as architect technical (SMS) infrastructure. Through self study I became knowledgeable in this particular area. This went quite well. With mBalance I'm architect technical infrastructure and I design solutions which process SMS, using the SMS product portfolio from mBalance".

Fun: "Within mBalance I can use my technical know-how and have during the sales process many contacts with the different customers. In this way I can leverage my technical knowledge to contribute to the success of mBalance. Due to the international nature of mBalance, I do travel regularly. All combined, this really creates an exciting and interesting job".

Less Funny: "We are a ompany with rapid growth which sometimes causes serious workload. That is why we are very actively hiring new colleagues".

Career whishes: "In future I see myself as the responsible person for the pre-sales department and as coach for different architects working in pre-sales".
