Do you want to handle more traffic in your network without buying extra
SMSC capacity? TextPass™ lets you accommodate (peak) SMS traffic more
cost-effectively, lowering the cost-price per SMS message. You can free
up SMS capacity, using direct delivery of MO/SMS to applications and by
performing a first delivery attempt so the SMSC is only used when this
first attempt fails. This scheme uses the SMSC's store-and-forward
capacity more efficiently. The versatile and flexible routing rules
enable routing of SMS traffic on virtually any SMS message parameter,
e.g. sender, recipient, SMSC-address, DCS, MSC, and even on message
content!
With the TextPass™ router you get the most out of your existing SMS infrastructure.
The SS.7 routing capabilities of TextPass™ are based on user definable
rules that route an incoming message to any destination. A message can
come from the SS.7 network (via an SMSC, MSC, or STP) or from a TCP/IP
connection (an SMS application or another TextPass™ device). Similarly,
you can route this message to any destination (SS.7 or IP). For
example, with TextPass™, you can route application traffic (all
messages going to your SMS applications) directly to the application
itself, bypassing the SMSC. This saves significant SMSC capacity, as
well as network capacity. Furthermore, applications can respond by
sending an SMS message to any mobile device using the TextPass™ router.
