Be prepared for the next generation of spam attacks

In order to be able to cope with the ever increasing resourcefulness of spammers from all over the world, you will need to be able to respond quickly to changing tactics and spam techniques.
The TextPass™ MAC has a modular filtering engine that allows for immediate response to new spam methods. New modules can be added on the fly, without interrupting the service.

Only with the TextPass™ Firewall and MAC you are able to protect your SMS infrastructure from incoming unwanted SMS messages.

The inspection and screening capabilities of the TextPass™ MAC are based on separately installable modular filters that can process any incoming SMS message type. A message can come from the SS.7 or SIGTRAN network (via an SMSC, MSC or STP) or from an IP connection (e.g. UCP or SMPP from an SMS application). The diagram below shows how the incoming messages are passed to the MAC by the TextPass™ Firewall.

Based on the rule conditions set in the Firewall, the incoming message is sent to the MAC for further inspection. This can be to a particular filter (flow 2a in the diagram) or a chain of filters (flow 1a), or even multiple chains of filters (e.g. 1a + 2a + 3a).

Speed, Flexibility & Functionality
Easily expandable with new message filtering techniques, without service interruption:
  • Modular concept supporting individual filters as well as filter chains;
  • New filter modules can be activated on-line without service interruption;
  • Automatic filter update service available for latest spam filters;
  • Suspect message can be put in quarantine (stored) for human visual inspection and approval using a web-based GUI;
  • Scaleable for any requirement: use multiple MACs per Firewall (load distribution) or multiple Firewalls per MAC.
